Indian Restaurant is Good

Some of my readers may know that my wife and I gave serious consideration to opening an Indian restaurant a few years back. We decided against it for a few reasons, and ever since we have been hoping that someone else would give it a go. Tonight we enjoyed a buffet at Sher-a-Punjab, a new Indian restaurant on Douglas Ave. There were some minor service issues, but most of the food was quite good. I particularly enjoyed the lamb curry and a dish called butter chicken. If you have never tried Indian food before, I suggest trying the buffet, as it allows you to sample several dishes. I am thrilled that we now have a good Indian restaurant in town. Give it a try.

I stopped in on Saturday for the free food. I plan on going back when I can order from the menu. The food was good, but I am not sure what I ate because none of the dishes were labeled. I'm pretty sure most of them were based on curry and vegetables. The flatbread was also good.

You went because they had free food. No wonder you voted yourself a raise. I am glad it was good though.

Our impression was that you have a couple good cooks with little bussiness (management/floor operations)exeperience running the show. We liked the buffet food we had Sunday morning. When I pulled out a credit card to pay and they informed me they couldn't yet accept plastic, I had the distinct impression they were gon'a give us the meal, but before they could I produced cash. Good guys, good food, but it will be a while for the kinks to get worked out.

Whats the deal with this place? Is it closed? I call and the phone just rings.

If it is closed, too bad. It wasn't the best Indian food but was a nice alternative to the boring majority of chinese/mexican restaurants in racine.

  6. However, as I said in my Market Observations of 31st March, "don't count on precious metal prices to show much strength in the short term. Missouri, Jefferson City.
