Why don't those who want both "power to the people" and big government see the contradiction?

We shall see tonight. The illustrious Mayor has promised his 10 year plan. Maybe that is why he went on his weekend retreat with his secretary. It is difficult to pull something imaginary out of thin air.
"that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
I believe that the definition of Democracy is a government run by the people not corporations.
I don't fear a government that is an ever evolving entity, but I do fear international corporations whose only obligation is to profit. Why do those who want freedom but give it away to private enterprise not see that contradiction?
Anon, you help make my point. The reason big business and other special interests cozy up with government is because a bigger government has more to offer them and more ways to harm them. A more limited government role in our lives would go a long way in reducing excessive corporate influence in government.
Why can't you see that the militaristic structural model of the U.S.is both socialistic and class serving? And it is most forcefully advanced by consrvatives and republicans?
...and furthermore, when will you righties acknowledge that Allan Greenspan called his last 40 years of following Ayn Rand's utopian Republican ideology was an error of mind-boggling proportions?
I love Racine Wisconsin. But I am not naive about the challenges we face. I have chosen the name Free Racine for a reason. For Racine to realize its great potential, we must free ourselves from our own failed policies, from high taxes, failing schools, and self serving politicians.

Anon 8:37, just curious. What constitutionally based freedoms have I, Nemo, lost to private enterprise?

Nemo, don't expect an answer from anon.
