Evidence of Climate Change

The other day I was rifling through my car, looking for an ice scraper. Though none was to be found, I did find three umbrellas and some sun screen.

I am starting to believe in climate change.

According to TMJ4, this month already ranks 11th for most snow in one month.

Obviously Dennis is implying that climate change does not exist, climate change does indeed exist. I have heard estimates from top scientists that one half of Florida will be engulfed by water by the year 2010 due to the melting of the ice caps. By 2024 Long Island will be under water. Argue with the facts Dennis. You will need that sunscreen someday.

Anon, what denis has implied let me state bluntly. I tend to believe the data rather than "top scientists" (pronounced "tools"). The latest data shows that the earth has been getting cooler for the last 10 years. I would be more open to the anthropomorphic global warming argument if the earth was not in fact cooling.

The IPCC (the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) estimates that the global average sea level will rise between 0.6 and 2 feet (0.18 to 0.59 meters) in the next century.

According to the EPA, the vast majority of Long Island is above 3.5 meters. (Just Google “long island sea level” to get a map.)

Although global warming does indeed threaten the southern most portion of the Everglades, it would take a 60-80 meter sea level rise to completely “engulf” Florida, according to the left-leaning globalwarmingart.com.

Anon, I have no idea where you are getting your estimates but they are clearly wrong. I wonder if your dismissal of Denis’s point has less to do with cold, hard scientific facts than your particular worldview.

Nemo, I hope for your sake that the Clownfish does not become extinct. Unfortunatly the ocean temperatures have been on an upward slope for 16 years, says the "data". Hope you don't live in Florida.

Small minded attacks on globa; climate changed based on empirical evidence.

Anon is citing "facts" from the great Scientist Al GORE, (no known College Degree). But of course his "facts" are supported by Professer C. N Census, PHD, BS ASS, etc.
it is the belief of CONCensus that all sorts or drooling Lefties excited at the prospect of destroying the worlds economy to save the Spotted owl or a Snail Darter will raise the Sea Level by those 3.5 Meters to swallow Manhattan.
Prof C. Has not updated his Data since the Hurricane Katrina passed through blowing away all of his logic, and leaving him with only the known that "fact" George Bush Hates White people. He is not aware that the South Pole has increased it's Ice and glacier content over the past 10 years.

But we should be aware that Global warming in the Northern Half of the Planet has just begun again, you will notice over the 25 weeks the days will get longer, and the nights will get shorter and sometime in the Spring we will see temperatures much warmer than yesterday! I'm getting ready now, I ordered a pair of Shorts from Copectic yesterday!!

Merry Christmas to all of my Neo-Left and Neo-Right friends.
And p.s. Micheal Gibson...Thanks for doing something!! Next time do something that really helps. Peace is NOT always the answer.

Peace is always the answer!!! The war is one of the major factors in global warming!!! You have to see through the nonsense!!!

Anon, a bit of data for you sir.

NASA press release 06-318
September 21, 2006.

"The average temperature of the water near the top of the Earth's oceans has significantly cooled since 2003."

Anon, there is still time. Find yourself good de-programmer. Cast off the cult of global warming before Algore has you shaving your head and selling flowers at the airport.
