Who We Got?
Many have rightly criticized GW for being a poor speaker and many consider BO to be a great speaker. Yes BO can deliver a great speech but he is a bit of a mess when speaking extemporaneously. Lots of long pauses interspersed with uh's and um's. Today I listened to him answer questions and it was painful. And when he wasn't sure who was to ask the next question, he asked "who we got?" Yikes.

Don't you mean "axe" the next question?
Yeah, I said it. So what?
Hey, did anyone else notice that the Mayan calendar ends abruptly during Barack Cocaine's first (and only) term as president? Coincidence?
I just hope the future "First Lady" learns how to stop saying "me and Barack" and doesn't actually say "me and the President". Of course, Bush says "nucular" so they are off the hook.
The Chicago Tribune is runing a series of "test your Obama relationship knowledge" that shows where he and Michelle first kissed, etc. I would like to see more inforamtion in this series, like where he snorted his first line or shot other street drugs (while someone else was studying for exams). Great - we are about to begin the fifth Presdiential administration run by an admitted drug user, and I'm sure that this guy did more volume and kinds of drugs than the rest combines.
Yeah, I said THAT!
combined
Anon...really?
As was said about Dumbo, err.. Dubbya, eloquent speaking isn't a requirement of the presidency.
No matter what side of the aisle you sit on, you have to respect the well-financed, organized and consistent campaign Obama put on, even though his competition was virtually non-existent.
I still can't believe McCain and Palin was the best the republicans could offer. That was ashame.
Anon 7:48, I could not agree with you more about Senator McCain (RINO-Arizona), but Tuesday's results in Georgia's senate runoff show that Governor Palin rocks.
Sorry..ahhh..ummm..Denis, That last...ummm...ahhh...post was not very...aaaa...very....ummm...much on topic. I'll try to...[long pause] ...uhhhh...stay more...aaaa...on topic in the...[longer pause] ...wait...ummm...aaaa...what was the question again?
Yep - accepting donations no-questions-asked from other countries and possibly other planets has lowered the bar to the point that anyone can step over. Non-existant "competition"? Yes, in this disgraceful country where the cult of personality rules. Maybe Hanna Montana can run in 2016when the Chosen One is done with us.
Nemo - you're a - a - a - um - riot!
. . . and the only people more invisible than Obama's various drug dealers over the years are the doctors and nurses - the young ones at the time of his birth in their early to mid-seventies now - who haven't come forward to say they know he was born in Hawaii.
Nemo,
How does the Chambliss victory in Georgia show that Palin rocks?
George, before Governor Palin was called in to campaign, Senator Chambliss was leading by about 5% in the polls. It was considered a very close election and the Democrats felt, correctly, that they had a good chance. Governor Palin started rallies on December 1st, the eve of the election, and Senator Chambliss ended up winning by almost 15%, a swing in the polls of almost 10% in less than a day. Since the only real change was the campaigning of the Govenor, Palin rocks QED.
Sounds like a polling error to me.
But who knows, maybe a populist theocratic demagogue is just what the Republican Party needs to lean against in order to win elections.
Yes - someone with a background - you know, transcripts, birth certificate that isn't stored in the Holiest of Holies that only one person gets to see, etc.
If he was wearing Cowboy Boots imagine what a buffoon he would be!!
I actually had someone tell me that was why they didn't like Bush, really!!
Urban - someone told me a few weeks ago that Joe the Plumber was a real jerk because he was going to be making more than $250,000 a ywear and "was going to get all those tax breaks". Further proof that when hell is full the dead will walk the Earth - starting in Wisconsin.
SmallGovSam, to me anyway, Governor Palin does not represent "a populist theocratic demagogue" but rather a front runner for 2012 that espouses the 4 things I, as a conservative, want:
1)Drill the Oil
2)Kill the Terrrorists
3)Cut the taxes
4)Punch the hippies
1. Although I agree that drilling for oil in ANWR will benefit the consumer and economy at large, her notion of “energy independence” is laughable. David Ricardo’s theory of comparative advantage is lost in the xenophobic sophistry of the times. We don’t need “energy independence” just like we don’t need “banana independence.” America should trade with who ever has the lowest opportunity cost in producing the good. That way the world gets the most socially optimal amount of resources.
2. An aggressive foreign policy exacerbates an already vexing situation in the Mideast. We should be circumspect when dealing with other nations, follow the Founders’ avoidance “entangling alliances” and practice free trade with all nations.
3. I agree with you on this one. But the truth is that politicians, of all parties, will never cut spending. Hence all tax cuts are simply “tax later” policies.
4. What can I say? I hate hippies, too.
Who Da PreZ???!!! Here come de Judge!
Sock it to me!
that shows the liberal illuminati has thrown a facade on us all. He's nice and alluring.. when it's rehearsed.
I beg to differ. The Illuminati (which is an alias) is neither Liberal nor Conservative. Individuals of both ideologies are simply pawns manipulated by the Illuminati. If the Liberals are on the left and the Conservatives are on the right, the Illuminati is the fulcrum.
As Michelle Obama would say, "ewe know, ewe know"?
Ewe know?
(Larry King)
Smallgovsam, I guess I'm more of a purest with regard to drilling oil. I don't care if expanded drilling is done to benefit the consumer, the economy at large, “energy independence", or because the voices in her head told her to. All that matters is that more exploration take place.
Killing terrorists works. Strong, unambiguous resolve can go a long way in stabilizing the middle east.
I am a firm believer in the Laugher curve. Tax cuts lead to increased revenue. That is not to say that limiting spending would be a nice fifth element to the list. Maybe even above hippie punching.
You must mean the Laffer curve...
LOL!
Yea, Laffer curve. Sorry. Sometimes the fingers spell faster then the brain. Sometimes not so much...
